About Yoga

Introduction to Yoga
Yoga is a timeless practice that blends movement, breath, and mindfulness to create harmony within the body and mind. Rooted in ancient Indian philosophy, yoga goes far beyond physical exercise—it is a holistic lifestyle designed to cultivate balance, self-awareness, and inner peace. Through a combination of postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), meditation, and mindful living, yoga helps individuals reconnect with themselves on a deeper level.
Today, yoga is embraced worldwide not only for its physical benefits—such as improved strength, flexibility, and posture—but also for its powerful impact on mental and emotional wellbeing. It helps reduce stress, calms the mind, strengthens focus, and encourages a positive, grounded way of living. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced practitioner, yoga offers a welcoming space for personal growth, healing, and transformation.

A Brief History of Yoga
Yoga dates back more than 5,000 years, originating in the Indus–Saraswati civilization of ancient India. The earliest references appear in the Rig Veda, followed by deeper philosophical foundations in the Upanishads and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, which introduced the famous Eight Limbs of Yoga.
Over time, yoga evolved into multiple schools and approaches. In the 20th century, teachers like Tirumalai Krishnamacharya brought yoga to the world, inspiring the modern styles practiced today. Despite its evolution, yoga continues to preserve its core purpose: uniting the mind, body, and breath.
